Stainless Steel 446 is a high chromium ferritic stainless steel commonly used in high temperature applications from 1500 degF to 2200 degF.SS 446 is the most oxidation resistant steel among the 400 series stainless. SS 446 resistance to cyclic oxidation is equal to or better than SS 309 and SS 310, but has lower strength at elevated temperatures.
